Pilates is a system of exercises performed on a mat or on specialized equipment developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's. The exercises target the core muscles,
often referred to as the "powerhouse", to help increase strength, stability, flexibility and balance.
Pilates' focus on precise, controlled movement creates strength in the smaller muscle groups, better body alignment and heightened body awareness, thus reducing chance of injury in all other aspects of our lives.

MAT CLASSES
Pilates mat classes are a fun, affordable way to experience and learn the fundamental principles created by Joesph Pilates. We teach the traditional Pilates mat repertoire as well as mixing it up with a variety of small props to increase the challenge to your mind and body.

While Pilates is for every body, group classes are not. Those with special physical requirements, limitations or acute injuries will be best served with private or semi-private sessions.

REFORMER CLASSES
The pilates reformer uses the resistance of springs and bodyweight to increase strength and flexibility. Our group reformer classes are small and intimate allowing instructors to give some personal attention and assure correct postures and positioning are achieved during the exercises.

It is required that those who have no previous Pilates experience take 2-5 private sessions before attending a group class. This allows the client to learn the basics of Pilates and the equipment and prepares them to get the best out of their class experience.

SEMI-PRIVATE & PRIVATE SESSIONS
A private or semi-private (2 people) session is the ultimate way to experience and learn the pilates concepts and form a deeper mind/body connection. It enables us to use a variety of pilates apparatus to create a unique workout centered around each clients individual goals and needs.
